Professor
Michael Shafer, Rutgers University
Professor Shafer received his BA from Yale and his PhD from Harvard. He has taught international relations and the international political economy of development at Rutgers for 24 years. He was the first winner of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Teaching, a finalist in the national Ehrlich teaching award competition and is currently a Carnegie Presidential Teaching Fellow. More importantly, Prof. Shafer has been voted "Best Teacher" by Rutgers students on many occasions. He is founder of Global PACT and has led Global PACT programs in Croatia (2004, 2005, 2006) and Thailand (2007).
Denise Horn, Northeastern University
Professor Horn received her Ph.D. from Rutgers University, and is Assistant Professor of International Relations and Acting Director of the International Affairs Program at Northeastern University. While still at Rutgers, Prof. Horn was responsible for the faculty development program component of the State Department-funded Civic Engagement Program Office project managed by the Center for Global Security and Democracy, of which she was Associate Director. Professor Horn is the Director of Global PACT - Northeastern, where she runs regular Global PACT trainings and develops new Global PACT programs. She has led Global PACT programs in South Africa (2006, 2007) and Thailand (2007).

Carole Ketnourath, Warm Heart
Carole holds a BA in Asian Studies from Hamilton College. She has worked in Thailand for the past two years, first as the volunteer manager at DEPDC in Mae Sai and now as vice president of Warm Heart, a community development NGO in Phrao. Carole is director of Southeast Asia operations for Global PACT. She was senior translator and trainer for Global PACT Thailand in 2007.

Dan Christopher
Dan will graduate from Rutgers College in May 2008 with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. He is an accomplished musician and surfer. His video about his Global PACT Thailand 2007 group project, TaTo, an anti-trafficking organization, has attracted widespread attention.
Yasmine Habash
Yasmine
Habash is a recent graduate from Northeastern University. Her first Global PACT experience began in Boston in 2005 and allowed
her to travel to South Africa in 2006. Yasmine has
traveled extensively in Asia and plans to work in the NGO sector.
