Professor
Michael Shafer, Rutgers University
Professor Shafer received his BA from Yale and his Ph.D. from Harvard. He has taught international relations and the international political economy of development at Rutgers for 24 years. He was the first winner of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Teaching, a finalist in the national Ehrlich teaching award competition and is currently a Carnegie Presidential Teaching Fellow. More important, Prof. Shafer has been voted "Best Teacher" by Rutgers students on many occasions. He is founder of Global PACT and has led Global PACT programs in Croatia (2004, 2005, 2006) and Thailand (2007).

Carole Ketnourath
Carole holds a BA in Asian Studies from Hamilton College. She has worked in Thailand for the past two years, first as the volunteer manager at DEPDC in Mae Sai and now as vice president of Warm Heart, a community development NGO in Phrao. Carole is director of Southeast Asia Operations for Global PACT. She was senior translator and trainer for Global PACT Thailand in 2007.

Yasmine Habash
Yasmine
Habash is a recent graduate from Northeastern University. Her first Global PACT experience began in Boston in 2005 and allowed
her to travel to South Africa in 2006. Yasmine has
traveled extensively in Asia and plans to work in the NGO sector.
Sopheak Nam
Sopheak is a graduate of the Centre for Children's Happiness (CCH). In 2007, she was selected to participate in the Mekong Youth Net, an intensive training program for young women leaders from anti-trafficking organizations in the Greater Mekong Subregion. MYN is a project of DEPDC. As part of her training, Sopheak participated in Global PACT Thailand in 2007. Following Global PACT Cambodia 2008, Sopheak will be part of the CCH that will establish a Cambodian national Global PACT training organization.
Chetra Soun
Chetra is a graduate of CCH. In 2007, she was selected to participate in the Mekong Youth Net, a project of DEPDC. As part of her training, Chetra participated in Global PACT Thailand in 2007. Following Global PACT Cambodia 2008, Chetra will be part of the CCH that will establish a Cambodian national Global PACT training organization.
