Course Focus

In this course, you are going to learn by doing and observing. You will be assigned to small work teams with an equal number of Cambodian students from organizations and schools across the country.

Together, each team will identify a critical local problem, break it down and develop a project plan for solving it. You will learn the essentials of cross-cultural communication, teamwork and leadership by doing.

You will also engage leading people and organizations -- Cambodian non-government organizations, official aid organizations, international agencies and government ministries -- in order to better understand local issues and behavioral norms. By the time you are done, you will know a great deal about Cambodia and its problems.

You will have the opportunity to ask local leaders about effective techniques for managing and solving problems.

You will have the opportunity to work with local groups on existing issues.

You will work in small groups with Cambodian citizens.

You will experiment with leadership techniques and behavioral concepts learned in class.
