Example Project: The Isipho Project (South Africa 2007)
Our project provides art supplies to the children at the local shelter which will enable them to create artwork that will be displayed and sold at cafe's in Grahamstown, South Africa, as well as Boston, Massachusetts. 100% of revenue received from the sale of the artwork will be directed back to the shelter and used to create a better environment for the children.
The Isipho Project is a community based, non-profit organisation
dedicated to cultivating a sense of ownership and pride in the children
at the Eluxolweni Children’s Shelter in Grahamstown, South Africa.
Eluxolweni houses about twenty-two vulnerable male children between the
ages of nine and seventeen.
The Isipho Project seeks to do
this by providing art supplies to the children at the shelter which
will enable them to create artwork that will be displayed and sold at
cafe's in Grahamstown, South Africa, as well as Boston, Massachusetts.
100% of revenue received from the sale of the artwork will be directed
back to the shelter and used to create a better environment for the
children to exist in. The Isipho Project is about helping to make the
shelter a home.
