Example Project: Action! Street Messages (Croatia 2008)
The Action! Street Messages Project is a non-partisan group that addresses divisive graffiti and fly posting in Vukovar, Croatia while promoting cooperation, unity, and understanding.
During the Project
Action! Street Messages’ first project took place in the summer of 2008 with 35 volunteers from Vukovar, the United States, Russia, Romania, Hungary, India, Kosovo, Serbia and the rest of Croatia who gathered to paint over divisive graffiti in Borovo Naselje (Cinema, Football Stadium, Stands, etc.) and the city centre. The project was presented at a press conference and received local, regional, national and international coverage on television, radio and in newspapers.
