Global PACT Activism Experiences & Project Intensives

Global PACT Activist Training/Dialogue of Civilizations

• For Global PACT summer 2009 courses, if you wish to receive academic credit via Northeastern University.  You will directly enroll and pay summer tuition to Northeastern University. Each summer Global PACT is listed as a Northeastern Dialogue of Civilizations course which is comprised of two courses, 4 SH each (8 total). Please see your academic advisor to see if they will fulfill your major or college requirements. Participation in one Dialogue (Summer I or Summer II) fulfills the Diversity/Comparative Study of Cultures requirement. You can find more information here.

Below are listed our recommended steps in order to obtain academic credit for an Activist Training.

1. Academic Advisor Consultation

• This is the first and most important step, because each individual college approaches this subject differently. It is critical that you consult your academic advisor (your Study Abroad Office or International Office can also advise you) about academic credit. Your advisor may not be familiar with how many people receive academic credit for international volunteering, and step one is to find out how much they know and whether more information needs to be provided to them so they can help you determine whether you are eligible for credit.
  

• We can send you detailed academic program Information that will aid your academic advisor in determining the amount of credit to award you for the education you will receive by enrolling in a Global PACT program. 

  2.  Learning Contract

• We can help you to devise a learning contract to aid you in attaining your goals. Your academic advisor and Global PACT can assist you in refining this contract.
